Running Man Episode 87

Her Star 별(Byawl)

He was doing it again.  Avoiding her and caring for her at the same time. Holding on and letting go. She sighed inwardly and climbed into her car…too many moments in a day to ponder over. So many emotions to untangle before she met Chang Joo for supper. Chang Joo was stable, dependable…uncomplicated. And Haha…well, he was like…Haha.

A mixture of craziness and tenderness… absolutely nonsensical and yet he took everything too seriously. Like colors mixed up in a kaleidoscope, every time you turned it, you would get a new pattern. But from the same old colors. Messy yet fascinating.

Or maybe those words were better for describing her feelings towards him. He wasn’t her type to start off with and they bickered so much both on-screen and off-screen. And yet just knowing he was there, she felt was a secure warmth within. She shrugged it off as her being fond of him as an oppa. It couldn’t possibly be anything else. COULD NOT POSSIBLY BE.

It was just a typical girl thing to feel touched when someone cared. Didn’t mean she was in love. He was just a nice a caring oppa who cared for everyone. Who texted her when she was sick. Who took a dirty can of soda from her hands and drank it on her behalf. Who stepped forward to block excited Thai fans when they knocked into her….and who avoided her on the bus…

She knew he was exhausted today. His appearances on so many shows for his album’s release must have worn him out physically as well as emotionally. The usual Haha would tease her and make her feel like one of the guys. Today, he chose to squeeze between Joong Kook oppa and Suk Jin oppa when there was a lot more space next to her. Just as she had overheard him telling Jae Suk oppa once, lack of sleep made him more sensitive to matters… And it lowered his guard too. Made his actions all the more honest and obvious.

She sipped on her packet of cactus juice, trying to distract herself while waiting for her stylist but the thoughts wouldn’t stop.

Not that she wanted to notice these things about him. It was just hard not to notice when the one who had always given in to you, allowed you to be a little bit more special than others to him and noticed when you needed snacks to cheer yourself up…. took someone else’s side. Han Ga-In’s.

She wasn’t jealous or anything. It was just a game…she had filmed enough episodes to know that sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. But that he had held her to allow Ga-In to rip off her name-tag…she pouted unconsciously. At that moment, it was them against her but… his grip was firm and not painful. And he held on to her in a way that allowed her to lean back on him as a support. “I’m sorry that I cannot be your Cho Sarang!” A flicker of emotion in his eyes… that he quickly erased with his impish, taunting expression.

No…don’t go there! Don’t even ponder that question. He was just being Haha. There was nothing to it. It was just the usual Haha being playfully flirtatious with the female guests to make them laugh. Yup, that was all. But yet, she had noticed that it was when something or someone meant a lot to him, the serious side of him emerged. He became all awkward and quiet. And would observe. Was he like that with her at the beginning?

No, you promised yourself you wouldn’t go there Song Jihyo. Stop it already. She sighed again, this time out aloud. Her manager looked over and motioned to her that her stylist was walking towards their car. She nodded in response…too tired out and sleepy to speak.

She had wanted to know him better…knowing there was more to him then he showed to most… but he suddenly pulled away from her after the Busan cruise. And she didn’t remember doing anything to cause that reaction from him. And not long after that, he wanted almost every female guest that appeared on Running Man to be his last love. How could so many of them be your one last love? Silly oppa… What happened on that cruise?

Her stylist finally got into the car too. The door slammed shut. Momentarily startling her out of her thoughts. She finished her juice and glanced out at the night sky. The engine started and they were soon on a highway speeding past houses and endless lampposts. Just one star, she thought. It would be nice if I could see just one star in the sky tonight. But there was none to be found. The night sky in its infinity seemed to echo her thoughts.

His First Love 첫사랑 (Cho Sarang)

Stupid. Pabbo. I’m an idiot. She’s so sharp, she must have noticed! He stared at his bibimbap and started stabbing aimlessly at the rice. And after all I’ve done to put things at ease between us!

He was standing outside the theater waiting for his date to come out so he could send her home.

And for a moment he thought he saw Ji Hyo (again) near the ticket area. He’s seeing her everywhere. This happen very often now and more so when he’s with other girl.

“Get a hold of yourself. She’s not here. She may be with her boyfriend for all I care.” Shaking his head.

Maybe he shook his head too much because he can see a couple coming towards him and thegirl really looked like her. And he wasn’t still sure until the guy spoke.

“Oh, Ji Hyo isn’t that Haha-shi?” pointing at him.

Ji Hyo who was busy rummaging her bag, looked up and surprise register on her face.

“Ah yeah, oppa.”

Haha was like a child at a parent teacher meeting… Lol… from exasperation to disbelief to snuggling and pouting! And then to appreciation…awww… : )

And I really like how his mom dotes on him too… always touching his hand to reassure him…..
